Its a nice car, only thing is, I may get problems someday because it has no filter and I am a bit worried that driving this car may not be longer allowed some day.

In any case, greetings from Europe to the Diesel community here.  :)

I am assuming by "filter" you are referring to the catalytic converter (in the exhaust)? We didn't even get catalytic converters in our diesels until very late (I'm not sure of the exact year). The EcoDiesel is the earliest one I know of which I'm sure you guys didn't get in Europe. But, if they ever tell you that you can't drive that car, just ship it over to some lucky person in Canada...or maybe the US if it can possibly be imported.  :D

I'm sorry, but I had to dig up this old topic! It's just that Mk2 GTD's are so common here in Portugal, noone gives a $h!t, really.  :D
But, yeah, it's comprehensible that reaction of yours. After all, over here, Caddy's are pretty rare (which is clearaly not so true in NA), so, some weeks ago when I saw one in living color for the first time, I was stunned!  :)

hehe... I have a Rabbit pickup (Caddy) in my back yard that I think I'm going to cut up because it's just too much trouble to bring it back from the dead. They really aren't rare here...you just need to know where to look and you can find one. They made them here in the US and for a time they were the only small pickup available with a diesel engine so that is why they sold.
