Really basic general turbo questions
« on: August 27, 2007, 10:33:30 pm »
I have an understanding of trim and a/r. I want to know if these vary in certain turbo models. Does a K24 have the same a/r and trim or are there different ones? I would assume a/r is fixed for a given "shell" since you can't really change inlet size and turbine radius but what changes?

I have a 2006 Jetta and have heard of a turbo upgrade where I could keep my existing "shell" and swap out the wheel(s). How would this make any difference? You can't really change the trim much unless you have a bunch of dead space around the compressor or turbine to begin with, right?

Thanks for any replies.
