hi

as title says what are the tools needed to do governor and dinamic advance mods?

any gaskets needed to be replaced?(keep in mind that the pump was fully rebuilted 2000km ago)

also i want to delete the rpm limiter(i will use my foot to determine that) and keep max fueling across all rpm band so what should i mod on the governor?

this will go also with merc dno261 nozzles so any advice to match all this together?

I.m not sure exactly what size allen keys but have a selection of lengths because a couple are a pain in the butt to get to due to the LDA. Also, be careful with the max fueling. If you go too much the pump will cause a runaway, so you need to find the max fueling without having the engine runaway at high rpm.

I didn't replace any gaskets and haven't had any leaks from that area. You will need a Torx bit for the advance mod. Personally, I would not do this mod as there doesn't seem to be consistent evidence it does anything beneficial.

how can i find that spot were is the max fueling without runnaway?
and what should i do in the governor to make the pump act like that?

It's not from the governor mod. It's from turning the max fuel screw too much. It's simple, just turn the max fuel screw to turn up the idle. Go back inside the car and push the accelerator all the way down and release. If the revs keep climbing, turn the car off immediately and back off the max fuel screw a quarter turn. Keep doing this adjustment procedure until the revs start dropping right after releasing the accelerator. Then adjust your idle back down to a normal rpm using the regular idle adjustment screw.

Advice? Buy yourself a 10-pack of the e-clips for a 4mm shaft. McMaster-Carr sells them. Don't ask me how I know. :oops:

because i am from portugal and tools or some materials are hard to translate... :oops:

shaft OD = 4mm
groove OD = 3.2mm
clip thickness = 0.6mm

I disassembled my governor linkage inside a clear plastic bag. That way, if the e-clip does try to escape it can't get very far. When I tried to reassemble it I thought "Hmmm, I should use the bag in case that clip ("spronngg").....oh, bugger!"

For a quick clergy that's a brilliant piece of advice... Not the buggering but the hands in a bag job :shock: I wonder if you can get a bag big enough to climb in

even when the engine runs away from the max fuel screw its not that big of a deal, its not like a real run away where the engine just screams away, the engine just hangs at a certain rpm until u let the clutch out or something, it doesn't increase or anything

so what should i do to the governor so he keeps full fueling all the rpm range?
replace the intermediate spring?what does shimming the main spring?

in my experience you dont need to shim the intermediate, just make the preload from the main spring harder, i did it like 3a4mm (M6 between it)

can anyone tell what each spring does?

some say to eliminate,other just to preload the main...
i guess that this is not something that could be done in various ways iguess.
each mod gives they´re gain/loss :idea:
