Wanted: a smart, motivated person for apprentice position
« on: August 09, 2007, 10:26:43 am »
Hey guys/gals,
The new shop is up and running and business is rapidly picking up. I find myself in need of help.
The apprenticeship position is for Fuel Injection Technician, specializing in diesel pumps and injectors. Starting wage is competative, with possibility of advancing to a position of responsibility within the company. Successful completion of apprenticeship leads to a factory licenced technician status.

Requirements:
The applicant must have a good base mechanical knowledge. Previous experience in working on diesels an asset, though not absolutely neccessary. Applicant should be punctual, motivated and able to absorb and apply instructions effectively.

I'm located in Markham Ontario, close to Woodbine and Steeles.

Please forward resumes to me via:

Fax: 905-940-2261

Email [email protected]

Mail or in person:

Giles Gallie
187 Steelcase Road West
unit 16
Markham, ON
L3R 2R9

I think anyone suitable for such a position will find this shop's environment a bright, clean and respectful one, conductive to expeditious learning and professional skills advancement. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks!

Giles

no really this is a serious request to people who want to learn
the pump business from scratch.

teaching someone takes allot of time and patience on my part and
i will only take people who are dedicated and serious to keep going
in it.

Giles

Hey now!!

My response was indented to convey that this could be a good opportunity for some one.
the humorous side was thrown in as obviously there is no way I would move to Canada for a "JOB".

Good luck in your search I hope you find someone that's truly willing to learn and apply what they learn.

hehe! I've spent some time in Giles' shop, and if the company I'm working for wasn't about to grow the way it is, I'd be taking this position myself! Can't say I blame him for not embracing the humour in that post. His last apprentice was a complete disaster. Even I wanted to kill him, or at least, fill his mouth with quick-set cement! Giles is a rather humourous fellow, so it just goes to show how important it is to him to find someone suitable for this position.
I repair, maintain and modify VW's and BMW's.
Good work done at affordable rates. Welding and fabricating, too.

I'd suggest calling him. He's pretty busy, and can let a day or two go by without checking PM's on here.
