Title: aaz flywheel and clutch question
Post by: b1rdjx88 on April 24, 2007, 10:57:46 am
Could someone explain the differences between the flywheels that come in Mk3s?  I understand there were versions available with either one or two alignment dowel pins and that the ones made in Mexico may be different?

I need to replace my clutch and I am not sure which pressure plate to order.  I see two kits available for a 1994 aaz at autopartsonlinecanada.com,and one kit specifies: "210mm Flywheel must be changed if vehicle is equipped with a LUK flywheel made in Mexico. (http://parts.autopartsonlinecanada.com/parts/apocanada/wizard.jsp?year=1994&make=VW&model=GOL-D-004&category=I&part=Clutch+Kit&appChassis=-038600)"

Recently, when reassembling my engine I noticed my flywheel has only one dowel pin, but the pressure plate has two notches... I found this out when I tried to install my timing belt and realized the timing mark was off!:x

Thanks,
Alan
