Title: Swapping the LDA onto my NA pump
Post by: vwmike on October 30, 2004, 04:20:48 pm
I grabbed a Peugeot TD pump from my local wrecking yard and I took the LDA off of it. It looks like the choke is in the top cover peice, but down in the pump body on the VW pump. Should I just remove the Peugeot choke and tap a freeze plug in there or could this serve some sort of purpose? I wish someone could explain what all is going on inside the pump. I sort of understand, but could use some clarification. Anyways, I figure when I take mine apart I should do any other mods I can to it. Can anyone suggest anything and possibly even show me some pictures? Thanks!

Well, I know there is a cable connected to a pull knob in my dash....sounds like some sort of choke in my mind...but whatever you wanna call it  :D

So, yes I'm talking about the red thing.

So are you using an NA pump with the Peugeot LDA? I would think about using the whole peugeot pump, but I see the mounting ears are different so I figured I'd just use the LDA.

Would you say there is a difference in fuel flow between a factory vw TD pump, and the NA pump with the Peugeot LDA?

Did you replace the seal on the pump top or just reuse it? I would think an o-ring could be sized to work, but I wouldn't know where to get one that big.
