Title: Best "Base" pump for modifying.
Post by: Baxter on October 25, 2006, 01:50:54 pm
Okay, im rebuilding a AAZ.
I have been collecting injection pumps.
I have 2 AAZ pumps, 2 SB pumps.
I have a 10mm head and rotor.

I am going to take the pumps to a local Diesel specialist as I don't have the time/inclination to put all the bits together.

I was gong to use the AAZ as the base pump, fit the SB pump top to it as well as the 10mm head and rotor.

Looking at the pumps there are quite a few subtle differences between the pumps, and I started thinking maybe I would be better with the cam plate of the AAZ into the SB pump with the 10mm head.

Then I got all confused, then the phone rang, then I forgot about it all...

Anyone got any views?

The 1.6 td with the bits out a montgo 2.0 tdi or di pump(perkins prima) all have 11m head ,or make a 18mm spacer plat and fit the compleat montgo pump :)

Really?  So if I can find the pump from a 2l Montego, it will bolt straight on with a spacer?  Hmmm...
What sort of improvements are gained from this?
Cheers,
Tom
