Title: Intake Cleaning?

do i need to clean my intake of soot or anything like i hear about on the tdi's? (93 golf 1.9 td)  if so, how.

Most TD's did not have EGR and therefore didn't foul the intake with soot and oil. The exception is the 92-95 Passat TD, some, but not all, of these cars had EGR systems and encountered the same problems with intake clogging as the TDI. Yours is a golf so there should be no need to worry about it.

Mine was spotless after 150,000. mite have a trace of oil from oil breather but nothing like the TDI guys are cleaning out of there manifolds :oops:
