I've heard all about the metal head gaskets being used on onlder motors, but what's the original application? In other words which one is it?
-
I still use the 1.9td headgaskets and I have a spare that I have been hacking pieces of the metal layers out of and grafting them into the ones I install on the solid lifter motors.
-
is the 1.9 HG hydraulic? how does that work?
-
i thought all 1.9's are hydraulic

correct 1986 was the change over year - halfway through I believe.
935 racer just said that he uses parts of a metal head gasket to graft to make the metal HG work on the solid lifter motor.

can't you guys get a 3 hole or what ever your piston protrusion equils on the heas gasket chart? i just went through this on my 83 td 1.6 and ended up getting a 3 hole gasket from autozone.
