Ok so nobody was answering at my previous thread and I figured it was because of the title, so I started a new thread.
So here's my issue
"OK so i did the BOV and wastegate. Thier is a difference in the top end but to be honest I don't generally wind it high enough to feel that difference on a regular basis but it is there.
Now here's my issue. I did the adjustment on the max fuel screw. My idle went up so I know I was turning it the right way, then I tried to drop the idle with the screw that the guy told me to in this thread again

and it didn't go down. So instead I tried the one that drops the resting position of the throttle lever (it rests against it) and that worked. So I dropped it back down, then I upped the max fuel a bit more and dropped the idle again. Then I tried it once more in a very small amount and now the idle won't go down all the way.
So, my question, did I go to high with the max fuel screw? Or am I supposed to drop screw #7 in the diagram on that thread? To be honest their is a difference but I don't think it would beat a GTI gasser as everyone says".

-The way you adjusted your idle is the right way to do it.
-The pump you see in the tread you refer to is a different pump as the most common ones.
-As far as I could see is the #7 in the picture the adjustement of idle in the cold start situation. (When you pull the lever on the left of the steeringwheel.)
-When you turn the max fuel screw to far the engine will indeed runaway.
Just set it just before this point.
-I can't recall anyone has ever said that only with these modifications you will beat a stock GTI. If you want to beat a stock GTI you will have to modify a lot more. Think about gov. mod, IC, DP and maybe even doing some surgery on your injectionpump.

you RPM went up right. How muh?
usually you can increase the idle of about 200RPM (~½ turn) and put it back on it's position (idle) with the screw #7 (which is different if you have A/C on the car) and everything goes right.
when you want more.. you need to adjust the horizontal screw which allows more "backward travel" of the throttle. If you don't then the RPM will go up like if the engine was in runaway.
(I feel like my english was real bad up there :roll: hope you understand what I'm saying)

Also try to adjust it with screw #8(and the other one at the left on the photo).
When you have A/C it is how you do it... but I feel that your adjustment lost may be also there if you don't have A/C.

Haha too lazy to look at the other post but you are doing things the right way, and you are right, you just went too far. Back it off a bit and you will be fine.

OK I will back it off. I was supposed to finish this up this weekend but anyone in the Golden Horshoe/ GTA knows what the weather was like this weekend. Ughh. Now the weather's going ot clear up niceley so we'll have a beautiful week of working indoors. Perfect.....ughh.
Also about the comment where i was told that I could beat a "stock GTI gasser", that is at the bottom off almost all the threads about "how to get more power from your diesel" in the FAQ section. I was told the max fuel screw was the biggest difference of them all. So I just figured I would feel a bigger difference than what I'm feeling right now.
I guess I'll have to do the governor mod and all the other stuff on the list as well. However I have to park the car for the summer in 2 weeks, so we'll see if it get's done. Most likely not.

Backed it off and added the boost gauge. Much less black smoke now when you touch the pedal, although it was great for tailgaters.
Still doesn't seem overly fast but maybe I'm just getting used to it. Oh well I'd like to do more bu tit's on hold for a little while, I will have to park the car for the summer as we have to go down to one vehicle. Maybe in the fall.
