Title: VDO egt probe replacement

 The vdo probe sucks!!!!! it is so slow. Im looking for a direct replacement, I have found an autometer 1/4 - 18 npt that will thread right in and also a micro 1000 probe that will thread into my existing hole too.
Looking to see what kind of experience you guys have, the micro 1000 is about half the price, but im looking for quality here.

The Micro 1000 probe works great, lots of folks on here have them.  There's also the Auber Instruments probe that works very well too.

My Autometer probe is still good having survived 2 gauges.  It does respond  loads faster than the   one that comes with the VDO gauge.
I have not tried the others mentioned.
