So, I'm broken down on the side of the road, waiting for AAA to come tow me.. Just based on a first look, it seems my throttle lever linkage inside is broken.. I was on an uphill when suddenly power cut out.. The car starts and runs, just won't rev up.. Can I replace it with one from a 1.6 na pump I have lying around or is it time to send it to Giles ? Thanks!

To clarify, it is the linkage part that attaches to the governor

I saw a catalog of maybe 100 VE pump inside throttle arms, so 'work' might be a relative term. It needs to have the same bushing height, and I think same rotation as well.
-
Yeah.. After looking at both pumps next to each other the 1.9 has a few more springs than the 1.6na one.. I'll be able to take it apart to see if it just came loose.

Ok, the throttle arm is definitely broken.. I'll be contacting Giles on Monday.
-
I'd weld it back together.

I'll be trying that today

Finally got and installed giles pump. Woah!
