Title: A few more aaz crank questions
Post by: Spokerider on January 16, 2014, 08:15:35 am
I have the crank out of the aaz block.......taking to a machinist for nose repair.
When I go to install, is there something better than just motor oil to lube the journals and cap bearings with?, considering that this engine is a fresh rebuild and has zero run time.

Also, the new crank sprocket bolt, apply motor oil or red Loctite? or? I read that VW uses *something* other than oil now.....a thread locking compound of some sort?

Thanks.
