i always thought those dashes were weird, they were used on early jettas, for 1980 only, then used on mexican built rabbits (caribe) and apparently also on the later caddys.

i has a 80 jetta one on my shelf.. vs euro its padded vs plastic... too bad its brown.. and my interior black.. why on shelf... matches my 80 only door panels so nice ill make it black next time i have dash out..
make sure to check out his nsu, and fiats too.. got all kinds of weird goin on...

Vinyl/fabric paint. Flat or semi works great, no gloss. VHT is the brand I use... works fantastic and lasts forever on non-contact surfaces. (dont use it for your gear knob.) I re-did the entire red cloth interior of our '88 Cabriolet, including seats using this stuff, looked like it just rolled out of the factory. No transfer from the seats to butt, either.

the VHT stuff is good stuff. I painted a blue dash black in an A-Team van I did.
