Title: Temp Sending Unit/Question
Post by: ein bora on June 28, 2013, 02:01:45 pm
This is the one that fit's into the rad, can you buy these with different pre-set values, or is what you have - what you get?
I'm using the passat's rad in my b5 gas to idi diesel conversion but I think it may be on the high side and I would feel better if it ran a bit cooler.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Is it the big screw in kind? if so, Saab used 2 per car in the late 80s, a high and low.

waler (sp??)  has high/lower temp ones...

old 1 speed style come in 75*c 82*c and 92*c   92 was common... 82 was for 80*c thermostat.. and the other is for the 72*c they also sell...

ive seen the mk2/mk3 duel sped opnes, 3 wire also in the standard 2 range, think its 92c and 96c..  and a lower range too!! but cannot rember its range...

i would wire it up so high speed kicks on 1st... swap the 2 pins in switch.. and then search forwhat you seek with that temp mod...
