???I have an 82 audi 5000 I replaced the head on and don't know how time the engine. Any advise on where I could find out how? Thanks in advance VW

crank to TDC compression(cam tits up)
lock cam
install TB, and tension with WP
loosely install rear cam pulley
lock pump
tighten cam pulley.
time pump same as any IDI, except advance is the other direction.

Thank you. Will the three tools normally used for doing a VW 4cyl idi timing job be the same as used on the 5cyl? I have the 4cyl IP pulley lock pin, the Tensioner tool with the two little pins and the Cam locking plate. If these won't work where might I get the proper ones to do the job?
Thanks again VW

I think they're all the same tools, except the only one I'm not sure about is the camshaft tool.

The crank tool is different than 6 cyl or 4cyl
TDI and IDI cam tools both work.
