Hi,
I found a Golf mk2 1.6 GTD (80hp) for parts.
Since I have a 1984 1.6td (70hp) passat. What parts (apart from the intercooler) do I need to make my td a GTD???
Thanks!!

From what I gather the only difference is the intercooler and injectors. They are the same breaking pressure, but from what I gather the nozzles were different. I think that is about it.
-
The GTDs also had a water cooled K14 with after-run water pump but that difference is fairly irrelevant.

Ok,
thanks for the replies.
Sorry if my question is too obvious, but I am new to diesels. I know very little about injection pump settings, etc.
The injection pump shuould be tuned after the "GTD conversion", right?
or, is it easier to throw the GTD pump instead?

All the tuning of the pump to the GTD standards would be to turn up the max fuel a small amount.

I looks easy. ;D
I googled pictures of an intercooled passat (quantum) to get any tips installing the intercooler with no luck.
Anyone in the forum??
Thanks a lot for the help
