Title: KN or similar air filter for AAZ in MK1
Post by: Blue Haze on December 19, 2012, 09:49:05 pm
I almost have my AAZ motor installed in my MK 1 caddy but I need to install an airfilter.  I understand that the cone type filter is what is normally used but can some one give me which one to order and /or part numbers

Anything with a 3" opening no?

I am pretty sure I have a 3" cone filter on my brothers AAZ.

The XD is what I will use on everything now. More cotton, almost as much dirt trapping as a paper filter. I have this picked out for the TDI jeep I am starting on.

BTW, I won't buy anything non K&N anymore. Seems like the copy filters don't have 1/2 the cotton in them that the K&N do. If you pick 2 up side by side you will see what I mean.

If you go foam UNI makes a good filter, I think Moose gets there stuff from UNI as well. Just watch for the autozone/advanced brand stuff in either style.
