That feeling when it starts, after doing a major project, its one of the reasons I love cars. Good luck. You should film it!

I assume you have never attempted to work on an obd1 gm product I assume?
haha
tip:
On hard to pinpoint/resolve oil leaks, pull the TB off and spin the int shaft (oil pump) with an air wrench (NOT IMPACT) to build oil pressure.
A lot better than pulling a gearbox twice.. haha.

Mr. Jaysen,
These cars are more simple than a bag of nails, not even cool nails, just nails..
tip:
When re priming the fuel system, it is going to take a lot of cranking to get the fuel up to the pump. Wait, did you take the fuel system apart at all? It may just fire right up :) However! have another car and jumper cables at the ready, because there is nothing like killing a battery for no reason, plus its hard on them.

if you pull fuel thru the lines, filter, and pump with a vacuum, then you dont have to burn your starter down cranking it to prime the system. then you only have to crank to get the diesel out the inj lines..

I got her primed up and she fired up perfect, i left it run for about 20 mins looked under the car and had maybe a drop of oil which looks like i need a new gasket to go on the oil drain plug thats where its leaking from other than that nothing yet, im still going to give it a neighborhood test trial.....

Actually i had a 1992 Dodge Daytona IROC turbo, talk about a mess of vacuum lines and just chasing ghosts on that car lol.... I fixed that one, i guess i want this VW to work so bad because i absolutly love the car and really just want to enjoy it...
