Title: Need help with performance
Post by: patracy on June 05, 2011, 09:35:17 am
I've got a 1.6TD mechanical head in my samurai.  I've turned up the max fuel as much as I can.  I've cranked the starwheel, and moved the pin to the most aggressive slope.  What else can I do to increase midrange and top end?  I'm guessing I need a different cam plate and head at this point.

Gov mod and custom boost pin/grind the pin to get more fueling on boost.

Where do you need fuel?

Easiest for you would be send it to Giles and tell him what you want.

I understand the gov mod, but rotating the lever?  I tried shimming my 1.9 AAZ I had a while back, didn't really notice anything with it.  It would rev high though.  I know Giles is certainly the way to go, but I've poured way too much money in the project already.  Mainly looking for more fueling in the mid and top end.

Awesome, I will certainly try that this week!  Sounds like it might cure my complaints.

 :o WOW!  :o

What a difference re-indexing the throttle made.  Now I need more air!
