Title: T3 42/36 trim VS K24
Post by: Big Daddy Roth on June 04, 2011, 01:22:44 pm
I have a K24 on my AAZ syncro B3. It's to late for my liking. It only makes boost up to 17psi ish, and it takes alot of revs to get there.

I've looked at some maps and I think the T3 is a better match.

Opinions?

The k24 and t3 that will bolt up to the TD are dimensionally similar.  That being the case, they perform similarly,  It sounds like you would be better suited with a k14 or even better a gt15/vnt15.

The T3 I have is NOT the OEM 1.6 T3.

OK, what are its specifications?

comp wheel trim/housing A/R?
turbine wheel trim/housing A/R?

Stock t3 is;

35 trim comp wheel, .42 A/R housing
standard trim turbine wheel, .36 A/R housing

All factory(vw, nissan, ford) t3 turbine wheels are the same size, they just use different turbine housings.

OK, it is the same as the OEM T3. No good to me then.

Gonna try a k14.
