Title: Xtreme 4x4 and Performance Diesel Injection
Post by: Giles@PerformanceDiesel on April 13, 2011, 06:03:33 pm
 :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I am very pleased to anounce that Ian from Xtreme 4x4 is using one of my pumps and injectors on the Suzuki Sam that they put a VW TD 1.6L in last year.

He aproached me about 5 months ago and asked if would do a special pump for the Tv Show.

The episode will air on April 30 and May 1st.

I haven't seen it yet and can't wait to see what he has done with the new found HP and torque.

Giles

Can't wait to see the show!  Should be good advertising for you Giles.  I'm sure they'll be very impressed with the extra power.  I wonder if Ian will ever upgrade the engine to an mtdi?

So is Xtreme 4X4 doing a performance mod to the unit? Because they already built that Samurai.
Anyway, it will be cool to see it again and perform better with a Giles pump. Gonna DVR this one.

I cut the cable from my house 3 years ago as the monopoly cable Co_-_-_st kept charging me for services I did not have. I was going to setup one of the sat receivers (I have both providers) but my wife and teenage son never complained about no TV, we finally gave my 37" CRT set to the salvation army...  I miss Jessi Combs from the show, but a diesel project would get me interested again!

Can you put up a bit torrent for the show ? It might be faster than emailing a 349 mb mpeg :-)

yeah comcast can suck it, i'm soon either switching or cancelling, they just switched to a new system where you have to have a box on every tv, so they now have no advantage over satellite, and cost the same while delivering less, bunch of greedy jerks really.

i love graboid.com.... better then cable tv IMO... and i shares my password/sn with friends who use it at same time as me... 500gig plan so $15 or less per mo for me depending on who all using my acct each mo..

sadly no one has this show uploaded there.. wonder how to do requests..

if xtreme was smart they would have flash vid on their webpages.. even if delayed 2-3 weeks would be worth looking for..

darn, looks like the diesel buggy they are building in those shows is actually a duramax powered beast...

^Yes, the diesel rollbent buggy is duramax powered, they get over 900hp and 1200lb/ft out of it IIRC....

The project we're talking about is a Samurai with a 1.6TD in it. They later built a chopped 2 1/2 ton army truck to haul it in.

Just got my pump back from Giles a week or so ago. Got the performance rebuild, have run one tank of fuel through my 1.6NA Caddy. Can really tell a difference. I drive this truck daily, 135 miles a day 85 of them miles are at a constant 70mph with no problem! First tank I averaged 45mpg, should get better then that as I didn't baby it at all!

I'm working on rebuilding a 1.9TD AAZ to put in my Suzuki Samurai. I will diffenitally be sending that pump to Giles also!

Great Job Giles

Nowhere near enough mention of the pump builder ;D Cool little buggy, impressive crawling torque was evident.

Was it me or did he gloss over some pretty important details when going MLS on a 1.6?

yeah he did, he was just throwing out numbers, he said stock gasket is only good for 20psi, which i would definitely say is not true, also when removing the injectors he was pulling away from the head, i cringed.  that thing really sounded mean after it had the pump and more boost tho.  definitely the power block episode that has excited me the most in a long time.

they arent true diesel heads, its quite appearent..

I disagree, he's built some killer oil burners & has to cater to a pretty large & varied audience. With all their builds the Suzuki with a VW TD was the favorite not some jacked up pickup with a big block.
