Title: 1991 1.6 crank/ 1981 11mm 1.6 crank
Post by: goon on September 27, 2010, 03:34:44 pm
Same dimensions or different? Haven't pulled my motor with the spun bearing yet but if the crank is marred in anyway I'm ganna need a new one I've got a 12mm 82 crank(covered in rust) and an 11mm 81 crank still flawless

Should be the same, but the 11mm will probably use a different crank sprocket with a woodruff key and slot, versus the notched nose on the 1991.

im pretty sure only the very early 1.5L engines had the key and keyway. my 77 1.5D had a keyway, all my other 1.5s had the notch in the end.

i was actually told by a very reliable source that the early keyed crank noses are tougher than the later notched ones.. FWIW..
