Title: surge
Post by: skifree on August 01, 2010, 02:11:50 pm
Driving my td Vanagon on the highway, it cut out for a second then it would run just fine. It did this six times in about twenty five miles. At first I thought my foot may have lifted, because it take less than a quarter throttle with the giles pump. Any ideas? I drained a little out of the fuel filter after it sat for two hours and no sign of water. I added more stanadyne and it did it one more time, this time a longer duration and it did not stall, and it stopped doing it. Maybe unrelated the only thing that I did differant was over fill the fuel tank like I do on my tdi.

Check to make sure that the stop solenoid connector is good and tight. I had the same symptoms and the wire was loose and losing contact going over bumps.
