Hi guys. I just signed up to the forum because I now own some VW engines. I recently purchase 2 1.6l NA diesels to do Build one of them and put in to my Suzuki Samurai. I'm not too familiar with the vw engines as I am with my 7.3l Ford diesel.
I would like to know how much horsepower and torque mostly I can vet out of the engine. What simple things you can do them to make power but keep reliable without going full turbo on them as I know it's quite a bit of work too do.
Any tips or hints I can do to thi thing? Thanks for the help

Check the FAQ. If you are keeping it non turbo then check out the thread that is called something like, "make your 1.6L N/A a faster car"
Basically, bigger exhaust, better/bigger intake box, and GOV MOD with some pump tweaks and you will have more power.
UNLESS you have $$$ then go turbo and GILES PERFORMANCE DIESEL pump with the above intake and exhaust stuff :D
