Title: Crankshaft Differences ?
Post by: kevinm on July 12, 2010, 08:54:34 pm
I noticed my crankshaft from a 92 1.6td is different in a couple ways from one i have in a 1.6td block (unknown year)...
The one in question is from the unknown year and seems to have been machined/balanced? Is this the case? and if so should i use it over the one in the other pic if the sizes check out....

i would run the one with the least amount of balance marks on it.

it scares me that they have to take soo much metal away from one spot to balance it, means there is a good sized casting flaw in there somewhere usually.. air pocket, sand, somethin..
