Title: Pump hitting a wall and blowing smoke...

Hi guys,

Havent recently got my car running much better (restrictive air intake filter!!)

It is now pulling from 3k-4500rpm VERY well indeed, but its hitting a brick wall at 4500rpm,  pulls like crazy, and just goes quiet and blows LOTS of black smoke...

Ideas..? Lack of internal pressure for advance or?

What kind of car and engine is it ?

Do you have a boost gauge (if its turbo) ?
