I have know idea where to start if some one can help me out that would be great. Also how long can I drive with a broken rack and pinion. THANKS

There's several ways to block off the wastegate... can he tell you what he did?

Cause the story is that i have a mint 1990 Jetta 1.8 Gas and i have a 91' Jetta TD and im going to do a swap put the diesel in the gas so i just want to make sure i don't blow the turbo or any thing

Did he block the wastegate or the blow off valve? I think it's a common thing to block of the BOV(search), if you block the wastegate you should be building lot's of boost so check your boost gauge to see if you are.
