Title: Gm Nozzel?
Post by: vw2k2000 on January 05, 2010, 06:12:21 am
Anyone know if a GM 6.2 nozzel =DNOSD#248 or #304 will work well in a 1.6 IDI?  Thanks

it will probably work, but the nozzle is not going to be matched very well to the pre cup.

I run them(mostly because they are cheaper) and see no difference in performance at all

I just bought a set of the proper Bosch VW IDI nozzles for less than $11ea at Euro Parts Direct ($50 free ship).  Are the GM nozzles that much less?

I know the 300D nozzles fit, some say they have a higher flow rate...anyone tested this?

Mercedes nozzles are for a very different prechamber design. The VW precup has no way to atomize the fuel like the MB prechamber's ball does.

I thought $11/nozzle is cheap enough for VW ones.  I would like to try running VW nozzles in my OM616- MB nozzles are closer to $30 ea....

Pretty sure a few people on here have tried out the Merc nozzles.  Results were lots of smoke and in one case blown out precups... not a good combo!
