Title: Timing up 1.6 pump on 1.9 engine! Need a pulley too!!!
Post by: ryanp on December 11, 2009, 01:39:07 am
Hi,

I'm fitting a 1.6GTD pump onto my dads 1.9D 1Y engine, It's got a GT15, FMIC and larger oil cooler. I'm just wondering what timing settings i should use, does 1.05mm sound about right?

Cheers

Ry

im doing a similar thing and ive been told 1.05 is a good setting to go with, but setting by ear on a cold engine should do the trick id imagine

every pump and engine react differently, there is no set value to time each too. However! 1.05 is a very good starting place!
