will it work on a 1.6 N/A diesel and would it help performance on it at all?

I think it'll fit a N/A...   I would imagine there might be some small gain..  How much it would be over the 8v dual outlet would be the question..    I have a toilet bowl enlarged to match the pipe diameter on one car, and the dual outlet on another and don;t see much difference between the two...  I do however notice some difference from stock, especially on those long uphill grades...

ROR, how much you think that header weighs???   I emailed the guy about it, waiting to hear back..

It's about a 45 min drive from me, but If we can make arrangesments for over the weekend I can stop at the Red Rabbit Drive In on the trip..  ;D..   IF nothing else my sister lives close to it, I can make her go get it and bring it along next time she's up this way..

I'm in the process of making arangements to pick it up.... I don;t think I wanna go though the trouble of having my exhaust chancged to try it, so you can have it for the $25 and shipping ROR..  If you find out a weight my zip is 17082..   Don;t think it'll fit in a flat rate box......

yea, i figured it wouldnt fit. am i too late on the weekend offer yet? i kinda figure you might need to tape 2 boxes together to ship it. i know thats how they ship seats and stuff. a big box taped to a bigger box. im sure it wont be that difficult.

also, im not really in any huge hurry to get this, i dont want to rush you. if you pick it up for me, cool, but if you dont, then thats alright too. but i would appreciate it.

He got back to me rather fast the last few times too..   I shot him an email yesterday around 3:30pm letting him know I could get it last night ot today, or pretty much whenever... Sent him another about the same time today..   I'll wait and see..   He may have gotten caught up in something, I know all too well how that goes....

yea, true.
and we are looking at a 23 pound header.
thats what TT says it weighs anyway. if the guy actually wants to sell the damn thing...
and i wonder if this is the mk1 or mk2 version? it didnt say. but for this price, who cares..
i have one of each car, so it will fit on something.

haha. no phone? he must be seriously hard up for money. or homeless. but that wouldnt explain the speedy email replys. haha... im surprised someone over on that side of the country hasnt bought the header yet for that kinda deal.

Well, I mailed him Sun afternoon, no response till later that evening..  It worked out that I was going to be in the area today so FINALLY I managed to meet up with the guy..  Interesting character.. He and his petit ami roll up in the rattiest MK3 Jetta I've ever seen.. The resgistration and inspection had run out over a year ago... I think they could have been living out of it as the trunk and back seat were packed with clothes, sleeping bags, etc..  He apologized for being slow to get back as he relied on McDonald's wifi for service, and he'd been run out a few times for loitering...

AS he rooted though the trunk moving his various paraphenalia aside he found the header!  It was indeed an 8valve VW header, looks like it was scored from a junkpile somewhere..   Cracks welded, and RUSTY...  I opted not to support his crack habit and passed on it..   He did have a few other things to sell me if I was interesting, the first two being a bit less than legal, and the last only $10 more if I wanted his buddy to join  :o..   I've met some very cool people through Criagslist, gotten some great deals..  But this one.....  Nope, not so much...
