Title: AAZ int shaft pulley: what's the part # & diameter?

Does anybody have an AAZ intermediate shaft pulley lying around to pull the part # and measure the diameter where the belt runs?

I have an IM shaft pulley I would be willing to sell you, I am not sure it was originally on an AAZ(I would doubt it actually) but I do believe that all the diesels had the same size IM pulley.

I got a pretty firm recommendation from a huge vw diesel engine building outfit that the 1.9 AAZ int shaft pulley is specific to the 1.9 block just like the vacuum pump is.
Still looking for a part # from anyone...

I just was looking for this for someone else. The number on Vagcat is  028 115 021 B . I didn't cross reference to see if has an other engine application though.

you can't use a 1.6 vac pump on an AAZ?

Correct. 1.6 has 1.25" diameter and 1.9 has 1.75" diameter.

Anybody need a 1.6 vacuum pump, vane style?

That's right, 1,9 pulley is smaller than 1,6. I don't have measures right now, but could measure when get home.

I just checked. The pulley i listed is 1.9  diesel non TDI  specific.

Kudos to Jeff at Acme Adapters for these details:

1.6 pulley 4 3/4" diameter, lip front and rear

1.9 pulley 4 1/4" diameter, NO lips either side.

way easy to spot in a box spares...
