Ok I give up, I have been looking for an hour for someone that may have posted an lube oil pressure spec for the 1.6 turbo engine. if you have it, great!
if there is a post I should have been able to find after an hour of searching, please show me the error of my ways.
I searched for "oil pressure specification", "Oil and pressure and specification and 1.6" and multitudes of variations.
I am about to install my overhauled 1.6 and would like to know what to look for when it fires!
THANKS!

The Bentley manual states:
Oil pressure, minimum at 2000 rpm with SAE 10W oil at 140F (68C)....2.0bar (28psi)

Thank you very much. It is almost ready to fire up. For right now, how about 75 psi during cranking with 15W40 Rotella at 20 degrees F?. This is what I got on the floor of the garage!

If it's any help at all, my newly rebuilt 1981 Rabbit 1.6D to TD conversion with 36mm oil pump idles at 120PSI cold at 20 degrees F. Once warm, it will run at 60 - 80 PSI on the HWY and idle at around 30 PSI.

That does help. every little bit of information helps to build a picture.
