Okay has anyone every accidently cross thread a injector alittle bit and use a tap to clean it up?
If so I am looking for the tap size and thread pitch, I fubard an injector seat and need to clean it up, it's not beyond using a tap I hope.

First off a tap that big will cost quite a few $$. Next you will have to use a finishing tap, not a tapered starter. If you can't or won't get one, try to get an old scrap injector, slice or grind 3 or 4 grooves into it like a tap has, and use that. You don't really need a tap that is hardened to cut new metal, just something to clean up your threads. Just start it in straight and turn it in back and forth. Also cover it in clean grease so it will catch the filings

hmmm, I do have a box full of injectors that are junk... I was thinking about putting a magnet where the heat shield normally is to keep metal shavings from going down in there...
Also don't worry I won't be attempting this while its 20F out like it is now.

I don't mean to be snarky but a magnet won't pick up aluminum. Try to fit a small piece of plastic or whatever to keep the crap out. But grease on the tap really helps for some of it.
