in the latest Princess Auto flyer (CDN) they list this
(http://www.omghi2.us/april05/comptester.jpg)
with the 4 metric adapters included would it work? I am thinking of ordering it and then if it doesn't work sending it back.

Based on that fuzzy pic, the adapter on the far right looks like the one you'd need for IDI VW Diesel. :)

thats reassuring! Yes its a fuzzy pic taken from there online flyer scan. I am going to order it today so hopefully will have it later this week.

Whatever you do, don't go to powerfist.com to look for more info. I read a post once on the vortex from a gentleman in the US who did this inadvertently. He wanted to check out the specs on a "power fist" engine hoist that was for sale on the classifieds. Not knowing that power fist was princess auto's house brand, he typed "powerfist.com" into his browser hoping to find the manufacturers website. He claims he'll never be right again after this experience, so be warned...
For those south of the border, Princess auto is basically Canada's version of harbour freight.
Back on topic, I also believe the adaptor on the far right should do the trick for IDI vw diesels.

hahaha now that is funny!

Reminds me of a related (but not diesel related) story...
Here in Ohio, we have this bean bag toss game that everyone simply calls "cornhole." It's an unfortunate name, but I guess it applies since the bags are filled with dried corn in denim bags and the "targets" are essentially wooden ramps with holes in them. The game is very popular here, super simple and is played at picnics...like horseshoes.
Anyway, one of my friends wanted to look up the "official" distances and rules for the game and found out first hand (no pun or vulgarity intended) that cornhole dot com is definitely NOT the website to find that info.
I also have a similar story about a foreign national here at work who wanted to look for a few American baseball items at a local sporting goods store's website. The name of the store is Dick's Sporting Goods. You can imagine what came of that.

Isn't it better to make an adaptor to go in place of an injector? Some of those glowplugs are hard to reach/get out and somewhat damage prone...

The compression tester I have is from NAPA, and is made by KD. It has the injector adapter already. I see no way of doing a compression test through the glow plug hole as the pump would be in the way...if you remove it you can't time it....

The adaptors pictured do fit in the injector hole, not the glow plug hole.
