On my IP there was a black button that would get pressed at full throttle but there were no leads on the conector??? it has a VW symbol on it but what the heck is it?
I took it off ages ago and just read someone mentioning it. i can't find any unused leads to go to it either. For a mechanical engine i would have never though to find a switch like this. Anyone know?
if you need a picture just say
Thanks,
Ed.

it might have to do with the upshift indicator system.

I had a 1978 Rabbit diesel with A/C and there was switch that cut out the compressor clutch at full throttle...

i don't have an upshift system either...
maybe my car found a new pump somewhere and it was on it?
