Please can anyone give me some advice on this swap. I am fitting a replacement pump on my golf. The pump has the black box covering the fuel shut off valve which I have removed by drilling the heads off the bolts. The solenoid is operating ok with a 1 wire loom plugged into the connector. I am having a bit of trouble finding tdc as there does not seem to be any marks on the flywheel but can remove an injector to find that. I set up the cam on tdc and set up the pump on the engine firing number 1 but the car does not want to start and when it does after cranking a while it bursts into life and cuts out again. I have timed up the TDC useing a large notch on the flywheel but I'm not sure its right. There is no valve piston contact as it turns over by hand fine. Anyway, any advice greatly appreciated.
