Title: Volumetric efficiency of 1.6td?
Post by: zaprzal on August 04, 2008, 10:28:07 am
What is Volumetric efficiency of stock 1.6td, 1.6td with ported head, 1.6td with 1.9 head?

I thought that had to do with turbos?Ive never heard an engine rated in those terms. It may just be me though,im still a newb. :)

VE has to do with flow, cam and basically all the other physical dimensions of the engine.

if you change headers, VE changes.

I don't remember if the SAE paper adresses that, but its a good read nonetheless

do you know how much is it for 1.6td with stock cam? It isn't constant, it change a bit in differen rpm range? right?

its a curve, follows the torque curve, but not quite.

I couldn't found any plots online, and don't recall seeing one for a 1.6, I'm pretty sure that if there is one, its on the SAE papers.

you can also calculate it from the torque VS BSFC curve I believe.
