Title: buying 1986 Jetta Diesel....Are they good cars???

Im thinking of buying an 86 Jetta Diesel from a mechanic friend. Its in good condition with 300k. Engine recently overhauled, cold a/c. I don't know a lot about diesel engines and want to know if there reliable cars. What kind of milage should I expect? Thanks

depending on where your at I would be nice enough to take it from your friend and save you the trouble your in for. Just let me know how much you need  :D

Probably the best built VW diesel to date. 85-92 was the "bulletproof" years.
