Title: Advice: D24T turbo oil feed piping
Post by: jbg on July 10, 2008, 03:00:58 pm
Hello,

I'm rebuilding the T3 turbo on my D24T and I'd like to replace the oil feed line, Volvo part number is 1328225 "oil supply pipe". I have managed to locate a place online which sells the part for ~$68.00!

Does anyone have a cheaper source for this part, or, can anyone supply the fastener threading (size, pitch, etc) for the engine side? If building one out of Earl's or Aeroquip parts is the way to go I will. I have asked this question on the Yahoo! Volvo Diesels group with mixed results. I've attached a pic for a reference.

Thanks!

On every turbo setup I have made I have made a custom oil supply line.  I use fittings, like earls, from summitracing.com or jegs.com.  I typically use universal brake line like you'd buy from you local auto parts store.  Basically it is up to you on how much you want to spend.  You can also opt for the stainless steel braided lines but that runs up the price a lot.

There may be cheaper alternatives, but personally I think $68 for a pipe that fits right the first time, and will likely never fail, is a good bargain.

With the car of course ... I got the car Febuary '07. I hope this didn't come off sounding like a smart ass.  :D
