Now that I have an oil pressure gauge, what is normal for a good AAZ?
-
I'm getting 5-6 BAR cold reving it up and about 1.5-2 bar hot idle.
-
BUMP, anyone ????
Someone must have a gauge on a good AAZ ??
-
Sounds similar to what mine is, maybe a little higher cold pressure. I was worried mine was a little low with the stories of 1.6's at 90 psi and such, but even with new bearings(minus intermediate shaft which were good) it still stays the same.

We need to know:
- the measurement site
- oil rating and type
- oil temperature
to have a meaningful comparison.
Having said that, at the oil filter flange with 15W40 dino (ie break-in) oil at 100C my oil pressure gauge and my tach are aligned.. 1bar at idle, 2 bar at 2000 RPM, 3 bar at 3000 rpm etc.
Fresh engine with all new bearings, original oil pump that was well within Bentley wear specs.

mines 5w40 syn oil, sender on head,i get 9 bar at the head cold tick over, drops to 2 bar tick over at 110 degrees oil temp revved up it goes to about 6 bar max when hot any rpm.

OK, it sounds about right then. I have the sender in the head (may move it to the filter flange) and 15-40 breakin oil.
Is there any easy way to get more hot oil pressure?

put the tickover up
