Title: where to mount oil pressure sender?
Post by: Dirtrag2 on July 01, 2008, 07:27:48 am
Hi, i have an autometer oil pressure gauge and sender unit and the instructions call for a remote mounting in high vibration apps.  Should i mount it remotely on the firewall or can i mount it direclty on the top sender hole in the head ?

edit: BTW its a AAZ engine

I put mine on the oil filter flange and have had no problems.

I put mine on the head (not AAZ though)

I figure I wanted to see what the engine was seeing and I didn't feel that a filter mounted gauge was the best option.
Not bashing jimfoo at all just for me I wanted to see the end result.

It may be interesting to move it there on my engine to see what if any difference there is.. Maybe I will..

Yes and no.

On the filter housing the oil has only gone through the IM bearing I think, in the head it has the cam bearings as well..
