I am picking up a 1986 Kubvan (A small step van built for the post office) with the running grar and motor of a 1986 rabbit.
I am looking to give it a little more power while trying to preserve its efficiency (The vehicle, all aluminum is actually lighter then a rabbit.)
The engine is brand new rebuilt. what would be the best way to spend $500 on more Hp/Tq?
Thanks

Is it the 1.6 NA engine?
Could you post some pictures? :D
-
Yes, its the 1.6 na I want to be the first guy around with a motorhome that gets 50 mpg :-)

for pic 2 take off the IMG part :-)

You're picking it up? Strange. It's on Samba? A Kubvan is on Ebay with those exact pictures, and it still has 1 day and 9 hours. If it is the same one, how can you be sure that you're picking it up? I mean, people are still bidding on it.
-
can you update your location in your profile?
-
I suspect I am picking it up ;-) doing my research on getting a few more ponies.
I am in Orlando FL

i'd grab it, kubvans are rare, hell i'd buy it if it were in my neighborhood
-
yeah i'd love to get on of those to put a td into.

I say drop a sprinter 2.5 in there, and run dual stainless 2" exhaust stacks out the top, big rig style. Squeeze in a Cadilac Escalade interior, and get yourself a phat paint job.
That, and a horn that plays the ice cream man jingle
