Is my 1982 Jetta Diesel Coupe built in Germany?
Thanks!

I think the Jettas are from Germany but the rabbits are not. If the VIN starts with WVW then it is from Germany, if it starts with a 1 it is from the US and a 3 indicates Mexico

My pink states "WVW" so it was made in Germany. Thanks!

after 1978 the rabbits were made in the states. Before that, Germany. Mine says "Made in Germany" right inside the driver's side door (there's a sticker or whatever there.)
-
I think that the first production of the Rabbit pickup/caddy was in Pennsylvania, then moved to Europe, and now still being made in South Africa. All "mk I".

Canada still had german rabbits up to 79, the GTI 8)

hehehe gti, if you ever come get it

1980 vw diesel in Canada made in Germany. Late 1980-81 made in us with the different headlights, and fenders.
