Is my 1982 Jetta Diesel Coupe built in Germany?

I think the Jettas are from Germany but the rabbits are not. If the VIN starts with WVW then it is from Germany, if it starts with a 1 it is from the US and a 3 indicates Mexico

after 1978 the rabbits were made in the states. Before that, Germany. Mine says "Made in Germany" right inside the driver's side door (there's a sticker or whatever there.)

I think that the first production of the Rabbit pickup/caddy was in Pennsylvania, then moved to Europe, and now still being made in South Africa.  All "mk I".

1980 vw diesel in Canada made in Germany.  Late 1980-81 made in us with the different headlights, and fenders.
