Car--'91 Eco Diesel
Anyone had to replace the oil feed line running from the oil filter housing to the turbo? Is this a dealer only part? Any price range? Any other ideas?
Thanks
Andrew

I should mention that I discovered the line was leaking at the union off the oil filter housing. I removed the line and found that the ferrule at the end of the line had fused with the intermediate union, I had to take them off together as one unit and can't get them apart. Probably happened because PO over tightened? Anyone have this problem? Solutions? If the answer is a new dealership setup anyone, with access, have the Part number for the line with ferrules and washer which should sit between intermediate union and oil filter housing? Its a one use washer as per Bentleys and my car never had one to begin with.
Thanks

maybe a lot of penetrating oil.. and something to hit it (not too hard) to get it loose.

ive made my own turbo lines with steel brake line and a brake line bender. its rather easy.

Thanks for the replies... In terms of replacing them with brake lines, how did you get them properly fitted? Metric fittings?
-
i imagine you could use metric fittings, but i just reused the old fittings.

Looks like the part numbers (for a 1991 jetta eco) are:
068-145-771A Oil pipe
013 812 8 Sealing washer
021 022 2 Union nut (separate number for just the nut, the "pipe" probably comes with the two you'll need)
021 819 2 Male fitting on turbo (no listing for the oil cooler side, but I assume that one is the same)
Not sure if those parts are available any more or not. You might check the classifieds here to see if anyone's got one for you...
Master Acid... I can't recall, but are the ends on that oil line flared like brake lines (metric "double bubble") or do they have more of a single flare to them? Never thought of making a new line...
*Edit: Whoops...had to find the eco parts... I had previously listed the rabbit parts...

when i made my turbo line out of brake line it was a while ago, i cant recall how the end of the lines looked.
i do know that most double flare tools are also able to make single flared ends though.
id suggest taking youre line off and examining the ends to see how it looks before you buy anything.
