It just started this ,so the oil is still good. But the exhaust is blowing white smoke, which if i under stand right that is un-burnt fuel. that was not the case when it first happened. i thought i saw black smoke.

It can be unburnt fuel, sometimes from too far retarded timing or it can be coolant, which would suport your thoughts on the HG

Well i would like to thank all of you and "burn_your_money" for all the help. I made my own compression tester( I can cut, weld and fabricate anything), and proceeded to check the cyclinders. 3 and 4 looked great, 1 and 2 had nothing. took the head off today and the gasket between the cyclinders was blown. :(  :(  :(  :(
Going to look into rebuilding my other IP, it has a LDA on it. i know, i know send it to giles, its just too much right now to spend on my daily driver while i am trying to finish my Jeep.(LT1,700R4,Dana 60,four link,40"tires). Maybe some day, i would like the added power, and the extra fuel economy.

Glad to hear you got it figured out, it's unfortunate that it's something so serious though.

Make sure you check the head and block to make sure they are straight, a HG job is not one you want to do twice

well its been to long.been working 75hrs per week and have not had much energy left to work on anything. BUT.......I heard it fire up last night :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D .  i have a few minor things to finish up this week, but i am very close. i put a new head gasket on, a real IP pump with LDA, new injectors, new timing belt, set my timing, modified my 2.5 down pipe for easier removal, bigger turbo, used the ECO intake with no blow off, made a riser to fit the turbo, and added some bling, bling paint.

sweet, hope it works right. Be glad you get to work on a vw diesel, I'm stuck working on a chevy celebrity
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.
