Finding out if parts are interchangeable
« on: April 01, 2007, 03:40:51 pm »
I was just at a u-pull auto wreckers and they had a golf almost the same year as my jetta but I dont exactly remember what year it was, everything was the same thou (body parts, interior parts) and it still had the rear axle attached. The axle on my jetta is bent so bad that alignment shims cant fix it so I am thinking of pulling it out and putting it on my car. Does anyone know if a golf rear axle will fit my jetta? or is there somewhere where I can type in my part and it will tell me what years are the same?

it's a pretty easy job too if you have a lift.  even if not... i bent my tire in once trying to avoid hitting some moron in the winter a few years back.  you wanna talk bad alignment... the rear end fishtailed all the way to the garage!!
