hey guys a while back I instaled a supersport 60/40 cup kit on my 95 golf TD, however I have been having some trouble getting the front strut mounts to sit just right, I am sure they are the right mounts but I end up bearly being able to get the nut on the top of the shock.
I am hoping one of you guys would have a diagram of the front strut assembly, So I can see exactly what order things are supost to be in.
If someone could do this it would be greatly appreaciated, I'm now home for christmas break but i have to get the maintenance done before I can get down to the fun bits (intercooler, fueling, and stereo)

I have the same issue on my 92 Jetta, my one side sit's perfectly and the nut is all the way down but the damn left strut is still not tight enough.
I modifed a 19 mm nut for the strut bearing and used a all en key to hold down the one side. But I think I need to pull it apart an re tighten the strut assembly, the holds the spring in. Maybe buy new spring retainers to hold the Spring in.....
yea you need to use the allen key type socket to hold the shaft while you torque the nut to i think its 45 ft/lbs
kinda tricky... but i was able to install mine without the strut compressor
what a difference new struts & bearings & shocks make!!!
Thanks insdtanoodles, thats just what I was looking for, well I'm off to pull stuff apart.

Sorry it was 22mm modifed socket, but yea I believe my problem is deeper, I'm going to pull the sturt apart and change the spring retainers because the orinals are painted but and pretty rusty, maybe junked.
i forgot to mention that i bought lowering springs & struts for my car... maybe that was the reason i didn't need a strut compressor... (i did have to jimmy them a little bit, but other than that its all good.)
