Here's the one on my 1.6TD Bunnytruck. It's a PP pipe and connects to a 2.25" system with a Magnaflow muffler (custom bent by a local shop). The quality and performance improvement are both fantastic.

Nice looking truck!  Is that a G60 valvecover?  What breather setup is that you're running?   Sorry for the hijack...the downpipes look great.

Yes, that is a powdercoated G-60 cover and a homemade vent system with a stainless pot scrubber pushed into the Valve cover end of the tube.

I've bought two Jetta TD's in the last couple years where the support bracket was missing or the bolts missing and the Turbo Center sections were cracked in half right at the place where the Turban Housing secures to the Center Section.  I have to believe this is due to lack of support.

Nope not from that, the center section recieves no torque from the downpipe, its on the otherside of the turbine, there is no pressure on it.

There is absolutely ZERO need for a support bracket for a properly welded downpipe made from 18g or thicker material (mine are made from 16g) I have had zero cracks or failures from my downpipes.

Heres some comparison shots between the passenger a1 downpipe, and the stock unit. Note the smooth wide radius bends.
