UPDATE: Over the weekend, I had the chance to re-dyno the caddy after the intercooler install. I felt things went pretty well. On the first two runs, I ran it exactly as I did on the previous dyno session (15 psi..."daily tune"), so the only change was the intercooler. I ended up with 95.6 hp at 4425 rpm and 135 ft/lbs of torque. I was pretty satisfied... overall a gain of almost 12 hp and 15 ft/lbs at the wheels just by adding the IC. I'd say it's doing its job. The curves are similar but the top end is definitely stronger. On the last run, I turned up the boost to just over 17psi and turned the fuel up just a bit. That last run netted just over 100 hp and 141 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels. Overall, that's a gain of 16hp and 20 ft/lbs of torque over the previous setup with a little tweaking plus the intercooler. I was pleasantly surprised at the torque number. Figuring in the drivetrain loss, it's possible that it's putting out close to 160 ft/lbs of torque at the crank. Good progress. Next step is to pony up for a Giles pump...
BTW, a friend of mine says that your intercooler is from a Starion, not a Saab. He has one just like it.
how big is yer intercooler?
